Coach and his wife Kerstin have one son, 9 year old Nicklaus

While head coach at Apollo High School Coach Nold took over a perennial losing program and directed it to four straight 20 plus win seasons and three straight state championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007. During Perry High School's first varsity season, with no seniors on the team, he took the team to the state quarterfinals with an 18-11 record.
